Forklift Operator, General Labor, Material Handler, Manufacturing Production
Location: Ballinger
Base pay rate is $16.42 per hour.
1st Shift: 7:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday, with potential for overtime.
Forklift Operators perform float loading activities to support the distribution of materials to customers and branch locations. In their day‑to‑day duties, they operate a forklift, overhead crane and construction tools.
Key Objectives and Responsibilities- Perform float loading activities to optimize multiple loads for delivery coordination.
- Perform material handling and machine/equipment operation duties in a safe and efficient manner to fulfill customer orders and business requirements.
- Ensure machine and equipment is operating properly.
- Complete orders safely, accurately, timely and without damage.
- Inspect materials, products, machinery, tools and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management activities including daily updates to the ERP system.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Comply with all safety requirements and use applicable personal protective equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
- Must be able to become certified to operate a forklift vehicle and overhead crane.
- Education – high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience – previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
- Pace – ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Communication – effective communication abilities.
- Physical stamina – ability to lift and move heavy items, often requiring the use of equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Attention to detail – ensuring orders are processed accurately and inventory is managed correctly.
- Organizational skills – efficiently organizing stock and maintaining a clean workspace.
- Lifting capacity – ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Mobility – prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, etc.
- Exposure – moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non‑climate‑controlled environment.
- Noise tolerance – high noise levels.
