Overview
Lease Operator II - Nights is a technical operations role supporting the safe and efficient running of wells, processing units, and related facilities. The position entails a 12‑month duration initially, with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent.
Location:
Big Lake, Texas. This role is suited to candidates who can work in a rotating shift environment and contribute to the operation of oil, gas and water separation facilities.
- Act as the primary operations contact for assigned facilities.
- Monitor process flow, unit line‑ups, safety equipment, and computer‑generated schematics to support efficient operations.
- Inspect equipment and the work area using sight, hearing, smell, and touch to confirm correct operation.
- Issue Safe Work Permits and perform gas testing as required.
- Complete process monitoring activities including gauge readings, meter readings, sample collection, differential pressure checks, chemical injection rate checks, and leak detection.
- Carry out visual maintenance checks on temperature, pressure, level, flow rate, and vibration.
- Adjust local process parameters to help maintain product specifications.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and support winterization and summarization activities.
- Maintain accurate electronic or paper gauge sheets and communicate operational changes to the Production Foreman.
- Inspect safety valves, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, breathing apparatus, and other safety equipment.
- Work in a manner that supports environmental policies and procedures.
- High School diploma is required.
- Previous experience in a closely related position.
- Must be able and willing to work on a rotating shift and be available for call‑out as situation dictates.
- Ability to interact effectively in a multi‑cultural environment.
- Ability to maintain, operate and repair surface equipment associated with the production of Oil & Gas.
- Computer proficient with good and written and oral communication skills.
- Must be physically able to lift > 50 lbs and climb ladders / stairways.
- Must be able to use a Self‑Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and other safety detectors and equipment.
