Lease Operator II is a technical operations role supporting the safe and efficient running of wells, processing units, and related facilities. This position is suited to candidates who can work in a rotating shift environment and contribute to the operation of oil, gas and water separation facilities.
Role Context The role sits within a large project environment involving facility start-up, operating tools, procedures, work‑permitting and training. Lease Operator II is focused on field operations, equipment monitoring, and maintaining safe operating conditions across production assets.
About the Role Lease Operator II is responsible for supporting production operations by monitoring equipment, maintaining operating conditions, and helping to ensure safe, reliable site performance. Lease Operator II plays an important part in day‑to‑day facility operation and in supporting process stability, production continuity, and site safety.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary operations contact for assigned facilities.
- Monitor process flow, unit lineups, safety equipment, and computer‑generated schematics to support efficient operations.
- Inspect equipment and the work area using sight, hearing, smell, and touch to confirm correct operation.
- Issue Safe Work Permits and perform gas testing as required.
- Complete process monitoring activities including gauge readings, meter readings, sample collection, differential pressure checks, chemical injection rate checks, and leak detection.
- Carry out visual maintenance checks on temperature, pressure, level, flow rate, and vibration.
- Adjust local process parameters to help maintain product specifications.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and support winterization and summarization activities.
- Maintain accurate electronic or paper gauge sheets and communicate operational changes to the Production Foreman.
- Inspect safety valves, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, breathing apparatus, and other safety equipment.
- Work in a manner that supports environmental policies and procedures.
- High School diploma is required.
- Previous experience in a closely related position.
- Must be able and willing to work on a rotating shift.
- Must be available for call out as situation dictates.
- Ability to interact effectively in a multi‑cultural environment.
- Ability to maintain, operate and repair surface equipment associated with the production of Oil & Gas.
- Computer proficient with good and written and oral communication skills.
- Must be physically able to lift > 50 lbs and climb ladders / stairways.
- Must be able to use a Self‑Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and other safety detectors and equipment’s.
