Overview
Establish and operate warehouse operations in support of food manufacturing activities. Unload and process items received accurately and in a timely manner. Prepare accurate documentation and transactions that follow established procurement protocols for receipt, inspection, inventory control, issuance, and consumption in support of manufacturing.
Responsibilities- Support all manufacturing activities as requested, including transport of materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods (FG) between Alphia locations.
- Organize, operate, and execute warehouse operations in accordance with sanitation and inventory procedures consistent with established food safety guidelines.
- Maintain daily cleanliness of all assigned areas.
- Safely operate forklift (certification required – Alphia or C.J. Foods).
- Operate hand‑held scanner and computerized inventory system for advanced inventory transactions.
- Receive products from carriers (LTL and truckload).
- Inspect and account for all items coming into the facility; verify accuracy of raw ingredients, packaging, and supplies transferred from manufacturing and packaging.
- Properly inspect, label, wrap, and transfer merchandise to the correct warehouse location.
- Stage materials needed for upcoming production runs (packaging/processing for the next 24 hours) on a daily basis.
- Perform cycle counts.
- Oversee warehouse flow and report daily on available space and any inventory or shipping issues (mis‑ticketed pallets, damaged pallets, etc.).
- Coordinate with Plant Maintenance as required.
- Familiarize with and implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all products.
- Complete other duties as directed or assigned by the Inventory Lead and/or Shipping & Receiving Manager.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Alphia Business Systems applicable to the position.
- Ability to safely operate forklift with required certification.
- Knowledge of advanced inventory management using handheld scanners and computerized systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in receiving, inspecting, and staging materials.
- Capability to perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Familiarity with GMPs and SOPs in a manufacturing environment.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, walk, and move from place to place.
- Occasionally required to sit, use feet to operate machinery, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach above shoulders.
- Frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or touch.
