Job Summary:The Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) is responsible for maintaining the mechanical integrity and reliability of production equipment used throughout structural steel fabrication and component manufacturing operations. This position performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on fabrication equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, overhead cranes, conveyors, material handling equipment, and production machinery to maximize equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support on‑time production of structural steel assemblies and components.
Working closely with Engineering, Electromechanical Maintenance, and Operations, the Mechanical Maintenance Technician identifies mechanical failures, completes repairs, performs equipment installations, and supports continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, productivity, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Responsibilities:- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and install mechanical systems supporting structural steel fabrication and secondary manufacturing operations, including:
- Structural steel fabrication equipment, automated production machinery, and component manufacturing systems.
- Cold‑forming equipment, hydraulic press brakes, plate processing equipment, and saw systems.
- Welding positioners, fabrication fixtures, production tooling, and assembly equipment.
- Material handling and production support equipment, including overhead cranes, hoists, conveyors, transfer systems, welding positioners, fabrication fixtures, assembly equipment, and custom production tooling.
- Facility mechanical infrastructure, including dust collection systems, ventilation equipment, cooling systems, industrial piping, lubrication systems, and other production support equipment.
- Mechanical power transmission systems, including bearings, gearboxes, shafts, couplings, chains, belts, sprockets, pulleys, rollers, reducers, and drive assemblies.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including power units, pumps, cylinders, motors, valves, manifolds, air compressors, regulators, filters, actuators, and compressed air distribution systems.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic circuits using technical drawings, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems supporting structural steel fabrication and component manufacturing.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions and restore operations.
