Overview
Hilmar Cheese Company produces dairy products and ingredients for global brands, including cheeses, whey protein and lactose, and products for retail and food service.
Responsibilities- Run and maintain Cheese towers and related equipment, following all procedures for the assigned equipment.
- Identify flows from HCVs to packaging, including completing Product Transitions.
- Troubleshoot and communicate plant issues related to equipment and processes.
- Understand and maintain operation and sanitation of equipment, including CIP (Clean In Place), COP (clean out of place systems), Operator Based Maintenance, and pre/post CIP inspections.
- Conduct all in-process sampling as assigned.
- Notify management or maintenance of problems with equipment or processes that could affect safety, food safety, or quality.
- Learn and operate computer-related processes and controls.
- Ensure proper product safe handling and reforming procedures.
- Participate in training and development activities before, during, after shifts, and on days off; support on-the-job training and buddy training.
- Coach and train teammates and participate in on-the-job training activities.
- Place a high priority on food safety and sanitation by following Hilmar Cheese policies, communicating safety observations, and participating in root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
- Adopt a safety-first approach and report safety issues or opportunities to teams and leadership, with appropriate follow-up.
- Proficient English communication skills (read, write, speak).
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work 12-hour variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- SAP experience.
- Dairy manufacturing experience.
