Location- Texas Food Factory: 520 Shepherd Drive Unit 14 Garland, TX 75042 | Monday to Saturday starting at 5:00 am
The Sanitation Supervisor leads overnight sanitation operations in the Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food manufacturing facility, ensuring equipment and production areas meet company, food safety, and regulatory standards. This role verifies cleaning effectiveness, prevents contamination and cross-contamination, and ensures production areas are ready for startup.
- Supervise and coordinate daily sanitation operations for RTE processing and packaging areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety programs including HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, allergen control, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Verify proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, utensils, conveyors, drains, walls, floors, and production lines.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment and production areas are ready for startup.
- Monitor chemical usage, concentrations, and safe handling procedures.
- Train sanitation employees on cleaning procedures, PPE requirements, chemical safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), GMPs, and hygiene practices.
- Maintain sanitation records, logs, and documentation accurately and completely.
- Coordinate with QA, Maintenance, and Production departments to ensure sanitation effectiveness and production schedules are met.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
- Investigate sanitation deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor sanitation KPIs including ATP results, environmental swabs, audit findings, and downtime.
- Assist during third-party, customer, USDA/FDA, and internal audits.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of sanitation chemicals and tools.
- Enforce employee attendance, discipline, and performance expectations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation efficiency and food safety.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or food science background preferred.
- Minimum 2-5 years of sanitation supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience in RTE or high-risk food manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles, SQF, BRC or other GFSI standards, GMPs, SSOPs, allergen control, environmental monitoring, and chemical safety.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds while working for extended periods in wet, cold, and noisy production environments.
- Ability to read and understand sanitation procedures and SDS documentation.
- HACCP certification, SQF Practitioner training, recognized workplace safety training, and PCQI designation is an asset.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and sanitation tracking systems.
