Quantity 1 Target Start Date ASAP Tentative End Date One year from start date Scope Main Functions Responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance preparation of wells, processing units, and related facilities. This position requires a strong focus on oil, gas, and water separation facility operations, along with major utilities and secondary expertise across all operations. This is a large project involving on-site facility startup and the use of operating tools, procedures, work-permitting processes, and training.

Candidates with new-facility startup and operations experience are highly desirable.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Maintain personal safety and the safety of coworkers by following and enforcing all safety rules.
• Serve as the primary operations contact for assigned facilities.
• Understand process flow, basic chemistry associated with the unit, major lineups, isolation points, and all unit safety equipment.
• Review computer data and computer-generated schematics to ensure processes are optimized.
• Physically inspect and monitor equipment and work areas using sight, hearing, smell, and touch to verify proper operation.
• Issue Safe Work Permits, requiring a high degree of proficiency in current operating conditions and the chemical, personnel, and process-safety risks associated with the operating unit.
• Perform gas testing as necessary to verify that operating areas are safe for specific maintenance activities.
• Perform process-monitoring activities, including gauging tanks, reading meters, accurately recording data, taking product samples, monitoring differential pressure and chemical-injection rates, and checking for leaks, freezing, overheating, and other abnormal conditions.
• Perform visual maintenance by monitoring critical operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, level, flow rate, and vibration.
• Adjust local process parameters, including temperature and pressure, to maintain product specifications within the optimal operating range.
• Maintain the company vehicle in good working condition.
• Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling as necessary.
• Maintain accurate electronic or paper gauge sheets and document the reasons for production changes.
• Check control-valve positions to ensure valves are correctly positioned.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance, including adding lubricant or water, tightening valve packing, changing filters and steam traps, and clearing equipment.
• Communicate with the Production Foreman regarding existing process conditions and any changes made or required.
• Perform winterization and summarization of equipment to maximize operating efficiency.
• Monitor field equipment using electronic testing devices, handheld monitors, and computer-based monitoring systems.
• Inspect safety valves, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, breathing apparatus, and other safety equipment.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of assigned business activities.
• Follow environmental policies and procedures and perform work in a manner that eliminates or minimizes environmental impacts, including flaring, emissions, and oil spills.
• Give high priority to identifying and resolving environmental concerns.
• Follow all work rules and continuously improve job knowledge and skills.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Work independently when appropriate while supporting the team's objectives and assigned responsibilities.

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Previous experience in a closely related position.
• Ability to maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair surface equipment associated with oil and gas production.
• Must be able and willing to work a rotating schedule.
• Must be available for callouts as operational needs dictate.
• Ability to interact effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Computer proficiency with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be physically capable of lifting more than 50 pounds and climbing ladders and stairways.
• Must be able to use a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), safety detectors, and other required safety equipment.

Additional Role Details

• Hands-on troubleshooting of surface equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment and process alarms.
• Perform SCADA-based monitoring and data trending.
• Night-shift responsibilities involve less paperwork and a greater emphasis on field operations.
