The Industrial Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean plant in common areas primarily focused on floors and carbon black lay down areas. They will maintain the cleaning equipment for the floors, parking lot and larger vacuum units. This position will report directly to Production Manager and will assist as needed for cleaning projects and some material handling in Production if needed.
Work Schedule :
Monday thru Friday
- Utilizes and maintains all floor cleaning equipment (mobile scrubbers, sweepers, and hand tools)
- Maintains and cleans all exterior areas to comply with Environmental guidelines
- May assist in basic material handling as needed
- Completes required paperwork
- Follows general safety and housekeeping standards
- Make recommendations to Management on how to improve the cleanliness of the site
Skills and Abilities
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Custodial experience is a plus
- Must have some very basic mechanical skills
- Must have a positive attitude

- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Preferred high school diploma or equivalent
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally employee is required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 2500 pounds.
Specific vision abilities my require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, Tyvek suit, gloves, etc. Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible.
Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety procedures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents. Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard.
