Job Description

Base pay rate is $22.00 per hour

Perform inspection for IAS certified parts to include but not limited to part fit, weld quality and IAS documentation of each phase.

Must be able to ultrasonically test (UT) welds via non-destructive testing.

Read and evaluate detail drawings and apply the drawings real world parts.

The understanding and knowledge or how to see and correct errors on Prefab parts to conform to IAS standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer welding tests including ultrasonic testing of welds.
  • Assist, coach, and train fitters and welders to improve their knowledge, techniques and procedures.
  • Monitor shop fabrication processes and employee behaviors for compliance with required standards and the accreditation program.
  • Inspect fitting and welding work in the prefab shop to ensure quality control.
  • Provide and ensure customer-focused activities, deliverables and services.
  • Manage daily activities resulting in continuous efficiency and process improvements.
  • Conduct specification and blueprint reviews to ensure accuracy and error-free orders.
  • Provide recommendations to internal support Departments to correct errors and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct quality checks for out-going prefab buildings to ensure all pieces are present and conform to IAS standards.
  • Inspect incoming raw material to ensure conformance with engineering and IAS specifications.
  • Perform random checks on fabricated parts to check for out of tolerance products.
  • Provide instruction and coaching to educate Fitter / Welders on corrective measures pertaining to pre-fabrication processes.
  • Document inspections to comply with IAS standards.
  • Perform non-destructive testing of welds and document to IAS standards
  • Perform work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Pace – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication – Effective communication abilities.
  • Physical Stamina – Ability to lift and move heavy items, often requiring the use of equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Attention to Detail – Ensuring quality review work is accurate.
  • Organizational Skills – Efficiently organizing work methods and maintaining a clean workspace.
  • Teamwork – Collaborating with others to ensure smooth operations.
  • Technical Skills – Familiarity with quality assurance best practices.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics is preferred.
  • Ability to understand building specifications, drafting details and have a thorough knowledge of metal fabrication practices and techniques is preferred.
  • Ability to correctly read measurement tools such as tape measure, framing square, T-square and gauges is required.
  • Must be able to become certified to operate a forklift vehicle and overhead crane.
  • A combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lifting Capacity – Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mobility – Prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, etc.
  • Exposure – Moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Noise Tolerance – High noise levels.
