BASIC SALARY : R65 R 70 per hour depending on experience + overtime allowance

REQUIREMENTSMinimum 5 years' experience working in a factory, manufacturing or industrial environment. Previous experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, Fitter or similar role. Minimum N4 Mechanical qualification. Qualified Fitter / Millwright Artisan preferred/required. Forklift Driving License. Basic MIG/TIG welding experience. Safety qualification or training, such as NOSA, will be an advantage. Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and machine-building processes. Ability to use electrical, mechanical and standard hand tools safely and effectively.
Ability to accurately use measuring equipment such as verniers, angle protractors, squares, spirit levels and tape measures. Good knowledge of mechanical components, fasteners, sheet metal and structural materials. Physically fit and able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, and work on pedestals when required. Safety conscious with a strong understanding of safe working practices. Must have own reliable transport and be able to travel to and from work, including when required to work overtime.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Assemble and fit:
Gearboxes Pulleys Sprockets Chains Conveyors Rollers Bearings and bearing components Work with various types of sheet metal and structural materials, including:
Mild Steel Stainless Steel Aluminium Angle Iron Tubing Flat Bar Channels Sectional materials Use electrical and mechanical hand tools, including drills, grinders, tapping machines, spanners and other standard hand tools. Use precision and general measuring equipment, including verniers, angle protractors, squares, spirit levels and tape measures. Work with various fasteners, including bolts, nuts, screws, rivets and rivnuts. Perform tapping and die-cutting of threads.
Carry out basic MIG/TIG welding where required. Work effectively as part of a team in a factory/manufacturing environment. Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a safety-conscious approach at all times. Work at heights, including climbing ladders, stairs and pedestals, where required. Operate a forklift where required and within the scope of the relevant license.
