UTEX Industries is seeking a Shipping Lead to help coordinate daily shipping operations and ensure customer orders are prepared, documented, and shipped accurately and on time.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for helping organize daily workload, supporting and training Shipping Clerks, monitoring order accuracy, and communicating priorities and issues across departments. The Shipping Lead will work closely with the Shipping Supervisor while also assisting with day-to-day shipping activities as needed.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate and prioritize daily shipping workload and scheduled shipments.
  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to Shipping Clerks.
  • Assist with scheduling freight, carrier pickups, and outbound shipments.
  • Verify orders, quantities, packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation for accuracy.
  • Prepare and review bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and related documentation.
  • Train and cross-train employees on shipping processes, systems, and safety procedures.
  • Identify and help resolve inventory, order, or shipping discrepancies.
  • Communicate with Production, Planning, Quality, Customer Service, and other departments regarding shipment priorities or delays.
  • Assist with pulling, packing, labeling, staging, receiving, and shipping orders as needed.
  • Help maintain shipping reports, inventory accuracy, and department performance metrics.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate outstanding shipments, priority orders, delays, and operational concerns to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • Assist with daily department operations in the Shipping Supervisor's absence, within the authority assigned by the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent or 1+ years of manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years of shipping, warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous lead or training experience preferred.
  • Experience with shipping documentation, freight coordination, and inventory transactions preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with ERP or shipping systems preferred.
  • Forklift experience/certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
Work Environment

You’ll work in both manufacturing and office environments, using tools and equipment daily. PPE and steel-toed footwear are required.

Expected Hours Of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
