Overview
ROLE: COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
The Communications Specialist will facilitate the communications needs and opportunities within Crosstown Concourse. This individual will play an essential role in working with the diverse community of on-site retail, restaurant and arts-related tenants, marketing partners, and Crosstown management team to establish and maintain a timely and effective flow of information across multiple channels to drive awareness, engagement, sales and community at Crosstown Concourse.
This role requires a proactive communicator who is both enthusiastic and highly organized, with natural follow through to ensure communications are timely, consistent, and impactful. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, comfortably juggles multiple assignments, and brings a balance of collaborative energy and independent initiative. This individual will report directly to the Crosstown Concourse Director of Marketing & Business Development.
Key Responsibilities- Relationship Management:
Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants and vendors to assess content opportunities and elevate their stories. - Relationship Management:
Proactively communicate with management regarding progress and priorities to ensure clarity and collaborative atmosphere. - Content Development:
Proactively create and manage the content distributed across Crosstown Concourse communications channels including social media, e-newsletter and website. - Content Development:
Develop and maintain a forward-thinking content calendar to ensure regular and organized information and updates across communications channels. - Content Development:
Create and maintain internal processes that promote input from tenants and partners while maintaining accuracy and consistency of messaging. - Content Development:
Actively gather content including editorial, video and photo assets on a daily basis that reflect the ongoing, and often immediate, happenings across Crosstown Concourse. - Content Development:
Proactively plan blog schedule to enhance storytelling and promote website traffic. - Content Development:
Ensure all information is communicated accurately, without errors and in a timely manner – reflecting the organization’s commitment to excellence. - Content Development:
Work closely with leadership and agency partners on brand campaigns, content and digital advertising initiatives. - Content Management:
Manage all social media accounts for Crosstown Concourse including Facebook, Instagram, X, Linked In, You Tube, and Tik Tok with creativity and consistency. - Content Management:
Coordinate with Concourse tenants and vendors to ensure that social and newsletter promotion and posts are coordinated, accurate and timely. - Content Management:
Respond promptly and empathetically to inquiries on social media with a strong sense of customer service and brand voice. - Content Management:
Oversee e-newsletter content and distribution with a focus on growing the subscriber base and increasing engagement metrics. - Content Management:
Update website content to ensure timely and accurate information. - Content Management:
Work closely with marketing director to drive critical analytics including growth and engagement across all channels including social media, e-newsletter and website.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in communications, digital media, or marketing.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proactive communicator who can adapt tone and style across channels.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and platforms simultaneously.
- Demonstrated follow through and attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, Linked In, Tik Tok) and scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite).
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) and web content management systems (e.g., Word Press or Squarespace).
