Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and executing internal and external communications and marketing activities for the City. This includes assisting with marketing plans; producing digital and print content; coordinating social media; supporting media relations activities; maintaining website content; and ensuring consistent use of the City brand. Provides routine marketing support to internal departments and assists with public education and outreach initiatives.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Assists in implementing the City’s marketing and communication strategies, including social media, website updates, public relations materials, and branding.
  • Produces content for a variety of digital and printed communication channels.
  • Coordinates advertising and public education materials in support of departmental initiatives and City priorities.
  • Consults with City staff to create, revise, and update web content; conducts regular reviews of assigned website pages to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Supports the City’s Public Information functions by preparing written materials, routine media responses, and public information updates.
  • Participates in outreach communications and provides presentations to community groups as needed.
  • Ensures consistent application of the City brand and logo across materials.
  • Provides input for the departmental budget and monitors assigned project expenditures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration or related field.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in marketing or related field.
  • Equivalent combinations accepted.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles for small teams.
  • Knowledge of writing and design principles.
  • Knowledge of digital media formats.
  • Knowledge of journalism and English usage.
  • Knowledge of marketing.
  • Skilled in organizing projects.
  • Skilled in communication.
  • Skilled in judgment and analysis.
  • Skilled in software.
Conditions

Preferences
  • Experience with Microsoft and Adobe products.
