Associate Pastor: Bethel ARP

Bethel A.R.P. Church is a healthy, growing congregation located in the heart of downtown Winnsboro, South Carolina. Located in Fairfield County, Winnsboro is a historic town experiencing steady growth. As the town continues to flourish, Bethel remains committed to serving its community while fostering spiritual growth and meaningful connections for individuals and families.

Along with this development, Bethel A.R.P. has experienced steady spiritual and numerical growth in both attendance and membership over the past several years. A growing number of young families have become actively involved in the life of the church, joining our faithful and dedicated longtime members who continue to serve in a variety of ministries. Our membership currently stands at approximately 100, with average Lord’s Day worship attendance ranging from 80 to 100.

As Bethel A.R.P. looks to the future, we are seeking an Associate Pastor to serve alongside the Senior Pastor in advancing the church’s ministry and mission. This position will provide leadership in children’s and youth ministries while also sharing in broader pastoral responsibilities. The Session believes that the right man in this role will help strengthen existing ministries, foster discipleship, and support continued spiritual and numerical growth within the congregation and community.

• To develop and maintain a ministry to youth and children
• To develop and maintain a ministry with the younger families in the congregation and community.
• To serve alongside the Senior Pastor in carrying out the duties of a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

• Oversee and coordinate the youth ministry, including but not limited to:
• Teaching youth group
• Building relationships with youth and their families
• Planning and attending outings, retreats, summer conferences, and mission trips
• Maintaining regular and consistent communication with youth and families

• Develop and maintain a ministry with the younger families
• Connecting with visitors and new members and helping them integrate into the life and ministry of the congregation
• Emphasizing and encouraging continual growth in spiritual maturity

• Assist the Senior Pastor in worship services, including preaching as opportunity allows
• Assist the Senior Pastor with the visitation and shepherding of members
• Help coordinate the overall scope of the Christian Education program
• Faithfully fulfill presbytery and denominational obligations
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor and/or the Session
• Be involved in the community

• Must possess and exhibit an authentic and vibrant faith in Jesus Christ
• Must demonstrate a robust knowledge of the Scriptures
• Must meet the educational requirements of Catawba Presbytery
• Must accept the doctrines, government, and worship of the ARP Church
• Must have a genuine love for and a strong desire to serve the people of God
• Must be ordained or ordainable in the ARP
• Possess an outgoing and relational demeanor
• Value and utilize organizational skills and time management
• Enjoy being around people and building relationships with people in the church and community
