Weekend Treatment Nurse (LVN) Job Description
Position Title: Weekend Treatment Nurse (LVN)
Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, daytime hours (hours may vary)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to serve as our Weekend Treatment Nurse. The Treatment Nurse is responsible for providing wound care and treatment services, monitoring skin integrity, and ensuring physician orders are carried out accurately. This position plays a key role in promoting healing, preventing skin breakdown, and maintaining high-quality resident care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform wound assessments and provide treatments as ordered by physicians.
Monitor and document wound healing progress and changes in skin condition.
Complete weekly and as-needed skin assessments.
Implement and monitor pressure injury prevention interventions.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of treatments and resident responses.
Communicate changes in resident condition to physicians, nursing staff, and family members as appropriate.
Maintain treatment supplies and ensure proper infection control practices are followed.
Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.
Educate residents, families, and staff regarding wound care and skin integrity management.
Follow all facility policies, state regulations, and nursing standards of practice.
Qualifications:
Current Texas LVN license in good standing.
Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
Wound care experience preferred but not required.
Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
Knowledge of infection control and skin integrity management practices.
