Qualifications- Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state of practice
- Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
- Current CPR certification (hands-on component) — Aveanna can assist in obtaining after hire if necessary
- TB skin test (current within last 12 months)
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
- Must have reliable transportation

- State-specific requirements:
South Carolina – 1 year pediatrics;
California – 1 year experience under current nursing license;
Louisiana – 1 year experience under current nursing license;
Continuing Education as required by state
Preferred Experience
- Essential Job Functions (see responsibilities below)
- Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in accordance with physician orders and care plans
- Observe and assess patient condition; report changes to supervisor or physician
- Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care promptly
- Participate in, implement, and update the nursing care plan
- Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes
- Recognize changes requiring intervention and implement care to prevent or reduce risk
- Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act
- Provide care utilizing infection control measures per OSHA standards
- Educate patient and family regarding disease process, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies
- Maintain knowledge of nursing competencies through education and skill evaluations
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Practical or Vocational Nurse
- Current CPR certification
- Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and adherence to policies
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to reposition patients and move equipment; prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
- Ability to sit and climb stairs; visual and hearing acuity
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in home or during transport
- Function in diverse environments; exposure to allergens
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
