Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery
Fort Hood, TX
Pay From: $53 per hour
- Experienced Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) - Must be obtained through American Heart Association (AHA), or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS/ALS)
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Program (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, Emotional Support)
- 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience within the last 3 years
- Board certification not required
- Must hold a current, valid, unrestricted license in one of the 50 U.S. states or territories
- License must have no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions
- All licenses (active, inactive, expired, or military-limited) must remain in good standing
- Licensure must remain current for entire contract duration
- Work across antepartum, triage, intrapartum, postpartum, perioperative, and newborn care areas
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Perform physical exams and health histories
- Provide health education, counseling, and promotion
- Administer medications, wound care, and interventions
- Recognize and respond to emergency conditions
- Communicate patient care plans across healthcare teams
- Participate in clinical research and quality improvement
- Perform duties for all patients regardless of condition
- Perform L&D triage and independent decision‑making using protocols
- Screen health histories, complaints, medications, and conditions
- Review labs and notify physicians of abnormal results
- Ensure procedure authorizations are complete
- Monitor patients pre‑, intra‑, and post‑procedure
- Document care in medical records
- Transcribe and verify physician orders
- Carry out physician orders and document responses
- Coordinate nursing support staff (LPNs/paraprofessionals)
- Provide patient/family education on self‑care during pregnancy
- Administer medications via all routes
- Monitor and document patient responses
- Educate patients on medications and procedures
- Perform IV therapy, oxygen therapy, and respiratory therapy
- Document patient care
- Enter lab and radiology orders
- Retrieve and update clinical data
