Under the general direction of the Medical Director and Practice Administrator, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide healthcare in a pediatric practice clinical setting within their scope.

• Obtain a comprehensive health history through patient/family interviews and chart reviews; assess presenting illness, risk factors, family history, psychosocial situation, and cultural factors; perform a thorough physical examination.
• Develop and implement a treatment plan, including prescribing/dispensing medications in compliance with medical practice guidelines and state laws.
• Diagnose disease states and administer appropriate treatment.
• Practice within specified limits and consult with the Medical Director as appropriate.
• Order and perform appropriate laboratory, diagnostic, and other screening tests; seek additional information as needed; consult with physicians and other clinicians for evaluation of illness.
• Document assessment and treatment plan clearly and concisely in the patient chart in a timely fashion.
• Prepare documentation for medical records, including updates to the patient chart with examination and test results, diagnoses, medications, and treatment in written or electronic form.
• Effectively conduct patient consults and communicate the plan of treatment and care with patient/family to ensure awareness of self‑management and health promotion/disease prevention.
• Recommend appropriate community resources to meet patient/family needs.
• Work with specified care teams for preparation of each patient office visit and follow‑up care post‑visit.
• Maintain a cooperative and respectful attitude with clinic personnel, providers, and patients to enhance continuity of care and a positive working environment.
• Communicate appropriate information to other professionals and community agencies.
• Ensure an appropriate discharge plan by facilitating implementation, discharge teaching, and updating the plan in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in accordance with the patient’s clinical course and continuing needs to expedite post‑discharge care.
• Demonstrate willingness and ability to utilize telehealth to treat patients as appropriate.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

• Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing (required).
• At least 2 years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinic/practice, urgent care, or similar environment (required).
• Pediatric experience is a plus.
• Valid Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses (required).
• Maintain all appropriate approvals to prescribe and dispense drugs under applicable State and federal law (CDS DEA license).
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
