The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Clinical Services department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards. The Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) will work collaboratively with the administrative support team to establish an effective and efficient work environment to provide excellent quality of care to residents while embracing a culture of empowerment and educational development.

• Must have a current RN license in the state of Texas
• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• Prior nurse management experience in long-term care or skilled nursing (preferred)

• Responsible for developing and overseeing the staffing schedule for the department
• Develop and participate in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of timely in‑service training as needed
• Approve and validate payroll for the clinical department prior to submitting
• Develop and implement resident care plans in coordination with a physician, medical director, nursing staff, and outside consultants
• Assess the quality of care rendered
• Help develop policies and procedures that govern nursing services and other services under his or her position control
• Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention, and staff development to achieve positive resident outcomes
• Collaborate with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and staff development
• Plan, develop, and implement a budgeted process for staffing and services rendered
• Evaluate the quality and cost‑effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the facility
• Serve as spokesperson for nursing matters and represent the facility with professional nursing and related organizations
• Participate in appropriate meetings and committees
• Promote positive public relations with patients, residents, family members, and guests
• Use tactful, appropriate communication in sensitive and emotional situations
• Other duties as assigned
