RN, RN Nurse, Mental Health Nurse

Overview

Full‑Time Registered Nurse (RN) – The Ranch at Dove Tree – Lubbock, Texas.

• Provide nursing care to clients, supervise care treatment and services by LPNs, CNAs, and other staff.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care for each client.
• Assess and re‑assess clients continuously, maintaining accurate medical records.
• Communicate findings and concerns with the interdisciplinary team, providers, and supervisors in a timely manner.
• Administer medications according to provider orders, using at least two client identifiers, and document all administrations, including PRN medications.
• Ensure accountability of medication control and security, including narcotics.
• Complete admission and discharge processes efficiently and accurately.
• Participate in unit activities such as therapy groups, family meetings, staffing meetings, and other team conferences.
• Provide education to clients, families, and co‑workers regarding medication use, side effects, client rights, and other topics essential to optimal care.
• Monitor client acuity, census, and staffing needs, escalating coverage requirements to the supervisor or Charge RN as needed.
• Ensure thorough documentation for all clients each shift and complete client assignment sheets daily.
• Communicate hand‑off reports to on‑coming staff and supervisors.

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years of nursing experience in a clinical area similar to the facility’s service, with a preference for experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or addiction recovery environments.
• Knowledge of and experience with psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards and practice within an acute psychiatric setting.

• Valid current RN license from the state or a compact state, where applicable.
• Certified in Psychiatric Nursing preferred.
• CPR and de‑escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.

On‑site at the facility – not a remote position.

Individual Contributor – this position does not supervise other staff.
