Quality, Infection Prevention & Education Manager Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or Compact Multistate License required
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required (or obtained within an approved timeframe)
  • Minimum three (3) years of acute care nursing experience required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Strong knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation, QAPI, CDC guidelines, OSHA regulations, NHSN reporting, healthcare accreditation standards, and evidence-based quality improvement practices
  • Lead and oversee the hospital's Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program, Infection Prevention and Control Program, and Employee Health Program
  • Monitor quality metrics, patient safety indicators, healthcare-associated infections, and organizational performance data while developing corrective action plans and leading Root Cause Analyses (RCA)
  • Coordinate infection surveillance, NHSN reporting, outbreak investigations, antibiotic stewardship initiatives, environmental rounds, infection prevention audits, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Manage Employee Health functions including immunizations, tuberculosis screening, respiratory fit testing, exposure follow-up, confidential employee health records, and return-to-work compliance
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for hospital leadership, committees, medical staff, and the Governing Board while maintaining continuous survey readiness for CMS, OSHA, CDC, state, and accreditation requirements
  • Develop and deliver staff education related to quality improvement, infection prevention, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based clinical practices
  • Collaborate with physicians, Human Resources, department leaders, and Administration to improve patient outcomes, reduce organizational risk, and maintain regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, electronic health record (EHR) systems, quality data analysis, and performance improvement reporting

Quality, Infection Prevention & Education Manager Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field;
    Certification in Infection Prevention (CIC) and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ); previous leadership, regulatory compliance, or infection prevention experience in an acute care hospital preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships, drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain confidentiality, and promote a culture of patient safety and accountability
