Role Description

This full-time, on-site Family Nurse Practitioner role is based at the Rapid Med Urgent Care clinics. The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care across the lifespan, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of urgent and primary care conditions. Daily responsibilities include performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing appropriate treatment plans. The role involves managing acute illnesses and minor injuries, conducting follow-up visits, and educating patients and families on prevention, medications, and self-care.

The practitioner will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff, contribute to maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and support clinic protocols for quality, safety, and infection control.

Qualifications
  • Clinical practice skills as a Family Nurse Practitioner, including independent assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across the lifespan.
  • Strong foundation in Nursing and Primary Care, with experience in health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic condition management.
  • Competence in Urgent Care and Medicine, including managing acute illnesses, minor injuries, and office-based procedures in a fast-paced setting.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas and national certification (FNP or equivalent).
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; master’s or doctoral degree in nursing preferred.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS and/or PALS certifications are beneficial.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with diverse patients and team members.
  • Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and comfort using electronic health records and basic office technology.
  • Prior experience in urgent care, emergency, or family practice settings is preferred but not required.
