Job Summary Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients and perform nursing procedures within the scope of your education and abilities.
Essential Job Functions
Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.Review and, under supervision, modify the plan of care based on the nursing plan of care.Observe and record signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status; propose revisions of interventions and outcomes.Deliver nursing interventions consistent with the medical plan of care.Notify staff of changes in patient status; recognize priorities and potential crises.Follow physician's orders in nursing care delivery.Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.Administer medications and treatments safely and properly.Execute physician's orders for patients.Prepare equipment and supplies for procedures; assist with procedures or treatments.Follow infection control, isolation, and aseptic techniques.Document nursing care in patient records.Follow internal controls and reporting structures.Perform related duties as required.Additional Information
Equipment: Standard patient care supplies and equipment.
Work Environment: Located within a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center. Security clearance and pre-employment drug testing required.
Required Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program, current Texas license/permit, and current BLS-HP certification. No experience required.
This position is non-benefit eligible, limited to 19 hours/week.
