Job Description

Under the direction of the Complex Maintenance Supervisor, this position performs complex (journey‑level) building maintenance and construction work. Responsibilities include daily operation and maintenance of the Davis Mountains State Park–Indian Lodge Complex. Duties include preventive maintenance and repairs to facilities, buildings, equipment, vehicles and grounds. Operates trucks, tractors, mowers, power tools, and provides visitor information and assistance. Performs resource management tasks as directed and participates in the safety program and inspections.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.
  • Valid Texas state driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • General maintenance experience with building, equipment, plumbing or electrical systems.
  • Grounds maintenance experience operating lawn mowers, tractors, trucks and hand or power tools.
  • Experience working with the public.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, masonry, janitorial, mechanical and grounds maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of building and facility repair techniques.
  • Basic mathematics.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Use of hand and power tools, mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, tractors, generators and vehicles.
  • Manual labor ability up to 50 lbs.
  • Independent judgment and teamwork.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a public park‑hotel complex with daytime and overnight use.
  • 40‑hour week with flexible schedule; may include overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • On‑call and emergency response duties.
  • Outdoor work in adverse weather.
  • Occasional travel 5% with possible overnight stays.
  • Must observe TPWD dress, grooming and safety standards.
