Location: Burnet
Overview
We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Groundskeeper / Tractor Operator to maintain company property, fields, roadways, and outdoor areas. This position requires operating a tractor equipped with a shredder (brush hog) and other landscaping equipment to keep grounds clean, safe, and well‑maintained. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors year‑round, including in the Texas heat and varying weather conditions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Operate tractors with shredders, mowers, and other attachments to maintain fields, pastures, and property grounds.
- Mow, trim, weed‑eat, and maintain grass, brush, and vegetation.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on tractors and groundskeeping equipment.
- Remove debris, fallen branches, trash, and other obstacles from company property.
- Assist with fence line maintenance, drainage upkeep, and general property appearance.
- Identify and report equipment issues, safety hazards, or property concerns.
- Maintain roadsides, parking areas, and common outdoor spaces.
- Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment and working outdoors.
- Support additional facility and property maintenance projects as assigned.
- Previous experience operating tractors and agricultural or landscaping equipment preferred.
- Experience operating a tractor with a shredder (brush hog) strongly preferred.
- Ability to safely operate mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, and other groundskeeping tools.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment inspections and minor maintenance.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in the Texas heat, humidity, dust, and changing weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to safely climb on and off tractors and equipment throughout the day.
- Comfortable working around machinery, uneven terrain, insects, and vegetation.
