The Opportunity

The Groundskeeper plays a critical role in delivering the UHP experience. This position ensures our campus environment reflects excellence at every level—clean, well-maintained, and ready to support students, staff, and guests.

From maintaining lawns and gardens to preparing outdoor spaces for daily operations and events, this role directly impacts the experience and environment our students train in.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Execution

  • Maintain lawns and green spaces (mowing, edging, weed control, fertilization)

  • Care for landscaping (planting, pruning, mulching, soil conditioning)

  • Prepare outdoor areas for changing weather (securing furniture, covering equipment, etc.)

  • Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely

Weekly & Scheduled Responsibilities

  • Perform site clean-up (leaves, debris, walkways)

  • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems; perform basic repairs

  • Support minor hardscape work (pathways, pavers, outdoor areas)

  • Coordinate or assist with specialized services (grading, installations)

Seasonal Responsibilities

  • Spring and fall campus clean-ups

  • Weather-related preparation and response

  • Snow removal and salting (as needed)

Safety & Standards

  • Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines

  • Maintain equipment in safe working condition

  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness and presentation across campus

Qualifications & Experience

Core Attributes

  • Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or similar outdoor maintenance role preferred

  • Familiarity with landscaping equipment and basic irrigation systems

  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards

  • Comfortable working outdoors in a dynamic environments

  • Flexible availability, including occasional evenings and weekends

  • Reliable transportation

  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly

  • Capable of extended standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching

  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)

  • Comfortable operating landscaping equipment (mowers, blowers, trimmers, etc.)

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Schedule:

    Typically Monday–Friday; flexibility is required based on campus operational needs, including varying shifts, occasional weekends, and support needs across our 800+ acre campus environment.

  • Work Environment:
    Fully onsite at our campus located at 25200 Ranch Road, Gentry, AR 72734 in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment

    Schedule:

    Full-time onsite role in Gentry, Arkansas
