Location: Fort Hood
Laborer (Laborer Grounds Maintenance)
The Logistics Company, Inc. is seeking applicants for the following position. Laborer will perform manual labor tasks to include using common hand tools and landscape equipment.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Loads and downloads vehicles and other conveyances
- Moves supplies and materials to designated locations by using assigned equipment
- Stacks materials for storage
- Levels ground using
- Operates gas powered zero turn mowers
- Reclaims trees, brush, and grass
- Moves and arranges office equipment and other furniture
- Spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walkways
- Performs ground guide duties as necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Minimum requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent - Valid state issued driver's license
- Ability to maintain post driving privileges
- Must be able to obtain access to military installation
- Preferred:
Prior lawn care experience - Language skills:
Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English. - Physical demands:
Must have the ability to work indoors or outdoors in bad weather. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop down and lift and carry in excess of 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate hand tools. - Work environment/hours:
Job is performed indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to inclement/extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may vary from moderate to high, depending on location. - Expectations:
Employee is expected to dress appropriately and be punctual for their shift. The employee must be dependable and have strong communication skills while meeting project deadlines. Must maintain accountability of equipment.
This position supports the DOD on a federal installation and the candidate must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours. Hours of work 7:30AM
-4:30PM (M-F).
