Full-Time Kennel Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Kennel Technician to help care for animals at the Azle Animal Shelter.

Schedule:

This position includes weekends and holidays.

Provide daily care to all animals at the shelter, including grooming, feeding, exercise, and general welfare. Maintain cleanliness and disinfection of kennels, equipment, and the facility. Communicate regularly with staff, citizens, and vendors to ensure smooth operations.

Exposure to strong odors, temperature extremes, and a variety of animal behaviors. Requires frequent bending, stooping, lifting up to 20 lbs, reaching, squatting/kneeling, and standing or walking for extended periods.

High school diploma or equivalent. Professional demeanor and ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment. Preference for candidates with prior animal shelter experience or experience in animal handling and behavior in a business setting.

Hourly pay: $18.87 – $20.27. 100% coverage of health, dental, disability, and term life benefits for Employee Only or Buy‑Up options. Participation in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a 7% contribution matched 2:1 by the City.
