Summary

Help restore and protect America's wildlife habitats. Lead volunteer habitat restoration projects that conserve fish, wildlife, and their habitats on U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service lands. Coordinate volunteers and partners while supporting habitat restoration, wildlife surveys, biological monitoring, and resource management projects. Use field and GIS technology to collect data and help conserve America's natural resources through hands-on stewardship and public engagement.

Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 1, Midway Atoll, Midway. The major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Lead volunteer habitat restoration projects that improve fish and wildlife habitats on public lands. Support volunteers and youth crews during restoration and conservation projects. Assist in planning and implementing habitat restoration, wildlife surveys, and biological monitoring activities. Collect, record, and analyze biological and environmental data to support wildlife management decisions. Use GPS, GIS, and other field equipment to map habitats, track wildlife, and manage project data.

Operate and maintain vehicles, boats, tractors, and field equipment used in habitat restoration and biological studies. Coordinate with landowners, partners, and community groups to support habitat restoration and conservation efforts. Prepare reports, maps, and other project documentation to communicate biological findings and restoration results.
