Internship (Full-Time, Summer 2026)

Position Overview

Fortis Energy Services, Inc. is seeking motivated students to join our team as a Health, Safety & Compliance Analyst Intern.

This role offers hands‑on experience supporting oil & gas safety operations, regulatory compliance, and environmental health & safety (EHS) programs. High‑performing interns may be considered for full‑time employment after graduation.

  • Duration:
    June 1 – August 31, 2026
  • Schedule:

    Full‑time (40 hours/week)
  • Locations:
    Plano, TX or Waskom, TX
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting field-based safety inspections, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments
  • Monitor job sites to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and oil & gas industry standards
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs and procedures
  • Document incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and new hire orientations
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Promote and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Assist with environmental compliance tasks including spill prevention and waste handling
  • Manage and maintain compliance across industry platforms including ISNetworld, Avetta, and Veriforce
  • Support OSHA and DOT reporting, ensuring accurate and timely submission
  • Maintain employee training records and track upcoming training requirements to ensure ongoing compliance
Minimum Qualifications
  • Working toward or completed Occupational Safety CER 1 (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of OSHA standards and workplace safety principles
  • Ability to work in field environments (including outdoor conditions and active job sites)
Preferred Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and hazard recognition skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Interest in oil & gas safety operations
  • Organizational and documentation proficiency
