The Site QC Manager is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to quality control standards, customer specifications, and relevant codes during all Company operations conducted on the job site. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity and safety of all project activities.
Quality Control- Prepare and meticulously maintain detailed job packages to accurately document all project welding activities.
- Monitor daily activities on the job site to verify compliance with customer specifications, quality control guidelines, jurisdictional regulations, and relevant codes.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify any deviations and promptly address noncompliant conditions.
- Coordinate authorized inspection activities and oversee the application of required stamping for pressure retaining items.
- Document and promptly resolve any nonconforming conditions, taking necessary corrective actions to maintain project integrity.
- Verify the use of proper welding procedure specifications and ensure proper storage and control of welding electrodes to maintain quality standards.
- Perform nondestructive examinations on weldments and coordinate related activities, including heat treating, to verify structural integrity.
- Test and certify welding personnel to ensure competency and compliance with industry standards.
- Coordinate and oversee nondestructive examination activities to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Direct and supervise subordinate Quality Control Inspectors, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure that all documentation aligns with customer requirements, quality control standards, and applicable codes.
- Some training minimum, but less than a high school diploma is acceptable.
- Experience:
8+ years. - Possession of a valid Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from AWS.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code construction and/or National Board Inspection Code repair work, with at least four years in a Quality Control function.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying relevant codes and standards.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills for effective team management.
