Location: Fort Hood

The Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) ensures tactical equipment platform is safe and reliable. Performs duties to direct maintenance personnel to inspect beyond the point of trouble or fault detection in support of customers' expectations. This position will develop Additional Authorized Inspection and Maintenance (AAIM) actions, beyond preventative maintenance checks and service task, to be performed by maintenance staff. The platform is inspected for various aspects, such as proper assembly of the vehicle's components, compliance with safety standards, and adherence to quality control protocols established by the customer.

** Responsibilities*
* + Inspects the maintenance and assembly of the platform for tactical equipment needed for maneuvering and supporting units in situational environments. Also, this position inspects the body of the platform in comparison of like equipment.

+ Examines mobility of the platform and conducts safety inspections; pre-, during- and post-operation checks, IAW technical manuals and locally developed AAIM.

** Qualifications*
* + A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance.

+ Knowledge of inspection, test, and measurement techniques in tactical platform.

+ Strong critical reasoning, decision-making and problem-solving skills to analyze situations.

+ Organizational skills and attention to details to handle multiple tasks, short deadlines, frequent interruptions, and shifting priorities in support of changing situations.

+ Understand Quality Systems and/or regulated training requirements.

+ Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

+ Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation and obtain and maintain a CAC.

** Desired

Qualifications:

* + ISO Standard experience preferred.

+ Associate or bachelor's degree.

+ Certificate in quality assurance.

+ Valid Driver's License.

+ High School Diploma / GED.

+ Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.

** Physical Demands:*
* + include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
