Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist supports the implementation of Environment, Health & Safety programs at a Carrier manufacturing facility, driving regulatory compliance and hazard prevention on the floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implements and follows up on safety, health and environmental programs.
  • Conducts inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.
  • Delivers training and promotes the safety culture across the site.
  • Supports compliance with applicable OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Participates in incident investigations, OSHA recordkeeping and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Maintains EH&S documentation, permits and records.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of industrial Environmental Health and Safety Specialist experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental, Industrial or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of US EH&S regulations (OSHA, EPA) and OSHA recordkeeping.
  • Experience conducting inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments and job-safety analyses.
  • Ability to develop and deliver EHS training and drive a positive safety culture.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.
  • Experience in high-growth or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 / ISO 45001.
  • OSHA 30 and training/communication skills.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $ annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
