Performs various tests on products to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met (particle size, moisture, color, etc.). Performs scale house duties for the site. The employee is responsible for maintaining compliance with ISO standards, Huber’s Sustainability Management System within his/her sphere of influence, and any other regulatory requirements. This may or may not include compliance with any air permits, wastewater permits, storm water permits, or other rules as presented to the employee as required.

This vacancy is for shift 12:00 pm to 8:00, M-F with potential for overtime as needed including Saturdays at Marble Falls, TX.

• Proficient in product testing, including, but not limited to:
  Particle Size Analysis, Free Moisture, Loss on Ignition, Brightness.
• Perform in-process and final testing on products utilizing product specifications and instrument operating procedures.
• Perform product testing of all parameters that are expected by ISO procedures and specifications.
• Obtain samples from Mill Operators and other production personnel in a timely manner.
• Good understanding of laboratory practices, procedures, and documentation.
• Must be able to enter quality data into a quality database. Ensures accuracy of test results and documentation.
• Involved extensively in the training of new or cross training Quality Technicians.
• Communicates to appropriate production personnel the results of product testing in a timely manner to ensure a high degree of production quality and integrity.
• Responsible for communication of accurate quality related information to packaging operators for their shifts.
• Assists with and performs specialized product/customer testing as necessary.
• Maintains proper verification frequencies of QA/QC instrumentation.
• Prepares and sends customer Certificates of Analysis, ensuring the results are accurate and comply with customer specification.
• May be asked to interact with Customers/vendors during plant visitations or during customer site visits.
• Follow the ISO quality system as required to ensure compliance with the ISO 9001 quality standard. Review and recommend updates to ISO documents and procedures as needed.
• May be asked to perform select job responsibilities of the Senior Technician in his/her absence.
• May be asked to assist in preparation of customer samples as needed.
• Be responsible for maintaining the organization of retain samples.
• Maintain and communicate inventory of lab tools and supplies.
• Actively participate in the continuous improvement program.
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining good housekeeping practices throughout the quality areas.
• Works in accordance with Huber vision, principles, and the desired culture.
• Perform scale house duties including but not limited to scaling all trucks in and out, generating BOLs, and releasing finished products for the site.

• A High School diploma or GED is required. An associate’s degree or some college preferred (Chemistry/Math).
