Description
The Director of Quality will lead the end-to-end quality control and quality assurance function across manufacturing plants in Brookshire, Texas and Goodyear, Arizona from incoming inspection through final product release and field reliability. The Director of Quality will own the quality management system (ISO 9001) at both sites, ensure modules meet IEC/UL certification and customer specifications, and will serve as the primary quality contact for customer audits and escalations.
This role may be onsite in Brookshire, Texas or Goodyear, Arizona.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the overall quality strategy for U.S. solar module manufacturing operations.
- Establish measurable quality objectives, KPIs, targets, and improvement plans aligned with business and customer requirements.
- Lead the Quality organization and establish a culture of prevention, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Provide senior leadership with regular reporting on quality performance, risks, trends, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, EHS, Sales, and Customer Service to resolve quality issues.
- Establish clear escalation processes for critical product, process, supplier, and customer quality issues.
- Manage the sites’ Quality Management System and ensure effective implementation throughout the organization.
- Lead internal and external quality audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Establish and lead the Supplier Quality Assurance program for critical raw materials, components, equipment, and services.
- Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain to establish supplier qualification and performance requirements.
- Serve as the senior quality escalation point for significant customer quality issues.
- Lead investigations into customer complaints, product failures, returns, and field concerns.
- Establish robust complaint-handling, failure-analysis, root-cause, and corrective-action processes.
- Coordinate technical responses to customers and ensure commitments are met.
- Establish a disciplined CAPA and nonconformance management system.
- Lead major quality investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, SPC, FMEA, and other appropriate tools.
- Serve as the primary U.S. Quality liaison with the parent company's Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and technical organizations.
- Ensure consistent communication of quality requirements, performance, risks, customer feedback, and corrective actions between U.S. and India operations.
- Support transfer of technology, processes, specifications, lessons learned, and best practices between India and U.S. manufacturing operations.
- Help establish standardized global quality metrics while addressing U.S.
-specific customer and regulatory requirements. - Build and manage the quality team, covering incoming inspection, in-process checks, final inspection, testing, and calibration.
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Twelve (12) years in manufacturing quality, including 5+ years in a senior quality leadership role.
- Experience leading quality organizations within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with photovoltaic/solar module manufacturing, semiconductor, electronics, electrical equipment, advanced materials, automotive, or another highly controlled manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing a Quality Management System.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools including SPC, FMEA, CAPA, 8D, root-cause analysis, MSA, process capability, and statistical analysis.
- Experience with supplier quality and customer quality management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
