Opportunity for Assistant Property Manager – Affordable Housing Experience (HUD / Section 8 / LIHTC)

The Assistant Property Manager supports daily operations of HUD‑, Section 8‑, and LIHTC‑funded communities, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements while assisting the Property Manager with leasing, recertifications, resident relations, and administrative oversight.

Job Duties
  • Assist with oversight of leasing, occupancy, and compliance for HUD, Section 8, and LIHTC programs
  • Complete and review annual and interim recertifications in accordance with HUD and LIHTC guidelines
  • Conduct internal file reviews to ensure audit readiness and regulatory accuracy
  • Assist with rent calculations, utility allowances, and subsidy processing
  • Respond to resident inquiries and enforce lease provisions consistently
  • Support preparation for REAC inspections, MORs, and LIHTC agency audits
  • Track compliance deadlines and assist with corrective action plans
  • Process reasonable accommodation requests and ensure Fair Housing compliance
  • Serve as acting Property Manager in the Manager’s absence
Assistant

Job Requirements
  • 2+ years of affordable housing property management experience, including LIHTC
  • Working knowledge of HUD Handbook 4350.3, Section 8, and LIHTC compliance
  • Experience assisting with audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with property management and compliance software
Preferred Certifications
  • Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO)
  • Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM)
