Looking always ahead, we keep up with and interpret what is happening in day-to-day business, so as to offer custom-made tools, reflecting our commitment to be of service to the environment we live in. We focus on building state-of-the-art IT solutions aiming at environmental management and also on providing specialized environmental consulting services in the fields of air quality, waste management, circular economy and climate change.

We are looking for a highly qualified Atmospheric Scientist with deep expertise in Atmospheric Modeling and Climate Assessment to provide scientific leadership in our EU-funded research projects.

You will drive scientific excellence in climatology, meteorology, and atmospheric sciences, with a strong focus on developing and applying atmospheric models, climate simulations, and impact assessments. This role is central to delivering innovative climate intelligence solutions that support climate adaptation, air quality management, and environmental decision-making using satellite data, remote sensing, and advanced modeling techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide scientific leadership and coordination for Horizon Europe projects in atmospheric modeling, climatology, meteorology, and climate assessments
    .
  • Design, develop, and validate atmospheric and climate models (regional and urban scale) for weather extremes, air quality, climate projections, and impact assessments.
  • Integrate Earth Observation (satellite) data, in-situ measurements, and numerical models to produce high-quality climate intelligence and environmental simulations.
  • Lead scientific work packages involving climate change impact assessments, vulnerability analysis, and adaptation strategy development.
  • Conduct advanced data analysis, model calibration, validation, and uncertainty assessment using state-of-the-art tools and methodologies.
  • Contribute to high-impact scientific publications, technical reports, and policy-oriented deliverables.
  • Support the preparation of competitive Horizon Europe proposals, particularly in the scientific excellence, methodology, and implementation sections.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (including remote sensing, data engineering, and exploitation experts) to translate scientific results into operational tools and services.
  • Represent the organization in international scientific conferences, workshops, and consortia meetings.
  • Ensure scientific integrity, quality standards, and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • MSc in Physics, Mathematics or any other related field
  • Solid research or professional experience in atmospheric modeling (e.g., WRF, WRF-Chem etc) and climate assessments
    .
  • Proven track record in EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe or H2020 is a strong advantage).
  • Advanced skills in scientific programming (Python, R etc) and model handling tools (CDO, NCO, etc.).
  • Experience working with Earth Observation / Remote Sensing data (Copernicus, satellite imagery) and climate data infrastructures (C3S, CMIP, ECMWF).
  • Excellent scientific writing and communication skills in English.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in large international, multidisciplinary consortia.
  • Willingness to travel in Greece and abroad.
Nice to Have
  • PhD in Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology, Climatology, Atmospheric Physics, or a closely related field
  • Post-doctoral experience in atmospheric modeling or regional climate modelling.
  • Knowledge of urban meteorology, air quality modelling, extreme weather events, or climate services.
  • Experience in proposal writing for competitive EU funding calls.
  • Familiarity with machine learning / AI techniques applied to atmospheric or climate data.
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

Our offerings include health benefits, as well as professional development, tuition assistance, work-life programs and flexible working models.
