Your MissionThe Colas Group Research Center (CORE Center) employs engineers, doctors, and technicians to support the group in the design and development of new products and services in the field of transport infrastructures. Focused on Responsible Development, each new research project integrates the requirement to respect the HSE and RSE criteria of the Group, a fundamental value placed at the top of the decision tree for opening a Research Project.
YourMain Responsibilities
Within the 'Binders and Coatings' Chemistry Service of the CORE Center, reporting directly to the Head of Service, you will work in collaboration with many stakeholders in a multidisciplinary environment.
Your main duties will include:
- Managing or participating in research and development projects in the development of new products, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (research laboratories, road and specialty subsidiaries of the group).
- Being a driving force in R&D projects (identifying new projects, technical innovation, new development paths, etc…).
- Taking charge of technical assistance requests from France and international territories: analyze the request, define the necessary tests to respond to the request, conduct the tests, write the performance report.
- Performing physico-chemical characterizations of materials and developing new characterization methods.
- Conducting technological surveillance to identify existing and promising technologies.
- Participating in internal laboratory projects.
- Participating in technical training actions for staff.
- With a degree of Bac+5 to Bac+8 in chemistry, you have at least 5 years of experience in R&D laboratories.
- You have knowledge in formulation of mixtures, characterization of materials, particularly in rheology and mechanical analysis, ideally in road or related fields.
- Analytical capacity, critical thinking, adaptability, writing skills, and good interpersonal skills are your assets for success in this position.
- A good level of English is indispensable.
Technical knowledge:
- Bitumen, resins, mineral oils and solvents, derivatives of vegetable origin, latex, polymers
- Analytical chemistry:
Gas chromatography, Mass spectrometry
