Accordingly, if you will now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status this moratorium may affect our ability to employ you should you be selected as the final candidate.________________________________________________________________The Research Assistant position will assist with conducting research and other initiatives for the Center for Environmental & Energy Sustainability (CEES). This position that will perform skilled, administrative, and managerial support in research.

Plans and direct certain phases in a research project.

This position is grant-funded. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant-funding.

The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.

Responsibilities:

Assists in designing, planning, and coordinating experiments in support of research projects related to one or more of the following: membrane processes (ceramic membranes, forward and reverse osmosis, air gap membrane distillation, etc.): carbon capture-related research, life cycle assessment, transportation materials, and infrastructure.

Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results.

Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical, or field staff involved in research.

Increase center’s research productivity by developing and submitting new proposals for funding and publishing high quality journal articles, and grant reports.

Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research, well organized, capable of multi-tasking, and has excellent documentation skills.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

No prior experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.

Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.

Ability to use existing resources and learning to accomplish or surpass intended results for current and future goals/needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's of Science in Engineering, Chemistry or related fields.
