Assistant Deli​/Food Service Manager

Overview

Salary: $37.00/hour. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 3 Weeks Paid Time Off, and a 401(k) plan with a 100% match up to 6%.

The Assistant Food Service Manager assists with all aspects of operating the department, maintaining the company’s commitment to Clean, Friendly, and In Stock.

• Perform duties of the Food Service Manager in their absence or at their discretion.
• Manage product offerings, including Jerky, Smoked Meats, Sausage, BBQ, Bakery, Sandwiches, Grab and Go, Tacos, Burritos, and Hot Dogs.
• Solve customer issues quickly in a friendly and professional manner.
• Understand and apply federal, state, and local food‑service and employment laws.
• Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment (floor mixer, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, fryers).
• Manage food‑service employees, protect quality, and provide customer service.
• Ensure accurate completion of food‑service operating reports.
• Implement and enforce safety rules and regulations.
• Interact professionally with team members and customers.
• Perform other essential functions as needed with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Restaurant, retail, or management experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant Food Service experience preferred.
• Proficiency in food planning and preparation, sanitation, and food handling.
• Proficient skill level in MS Office (Excel & Outlook).
• Experience with various POS and transaction devices (Kiosks, Printers, Tickets, Touch Screens).
• Acquire and maintain food‑service certifications.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and a rotating day/night schedule.
• Regular and prompt attendance required.
• Physical ability to walk or stand for 8+ hours, bend, climb, stoop, crouch, reach, balance, push, pull heavy loads, and lift 40 lbs. or more.
• May require relocation.
• Enthusiasm, a people‑focused management style, and attention to detail are desired.

• Prolonged walking or standing for 8+ hours.
• Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, balancing, pushing, pulling (e.g., ice cart with 50+ 20lb bags of ice, and lifting material weighing 40 lbs. or more).
