Assistant Manager Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager helps ensure that the restaurant operates smoothly and in a high state of cleanliness and provides strong leadership and supervision to the staff. They help manage and train the staff to ensure they provide exceptional service to customers in a timely, courteous, efficient, and accurate manner, that they follow proper sanitation standards and keep all areas clean and sanitary at all times.
QualificationsIdeal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalency with additional coursework or training in restaurant management; a college degree in Hospitality, Food Service Management, or a related field is preferred. At least one year of restaurant experience is required, and previous management experience in hospitality, food service, or customer service is highly preferred. Must be excellent at delegating in busy times, possess good time‑management skills, and maintain an exemplary professional demeanor.
Schedule& Requirements
This is a 31-40 hour per week scheduled full-time position. A Food Safety Manager certificate is required. The role requires standing and walking for many hours and lifting up to 20 pounds. The assistant manager must be consistently presentable, professional, and willing to work a flexible schedule. The assistant manager must be prepared to make decisions while fulfilling daily duties, maintain a professional attitude under pressure, communicate verbally and read/write in English, and an understanding of Spanish is highly preferred.
