Prepares and packages meals in accordance with approved menus. Cleans the kitchen area and its equipment and supplies. Maintains records and data, as directed.
Primary Responsibilities- Prepares, cooks and packages meals to confirm with approved portions and menus.
- Cleans and sanitizes the kitchen, dining and storage areas, to include the floors, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, applications, pots, pans, supplies and utensils.
- Assists in the delivery of meals, when directed.
- Stocks food and supplies in refrigerators, freezers and storage areas.
- Maintains refrigerators, freezers and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
- Records food and equipment temperature in accordance with standards.
- Any other duty as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- Use independent judgment in making decisions.
- Work closely with others as part of a team.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, be eligible for coverage in the operation of Agency vehicles and be able to pass a criminal history background check
- Obtain health card, food handler's permit, Food Manager Certification.
If a preliminary offer of employment is extended, a physical will be required before the offer can be accepted. Medium to heavy physical duties include standing, walking, reaching, bending, hearing, talking for up to (8) hours a day. Must be able to lift forty (40) pounds. Lifting, on-premises and off-premises will primarily be of food and food containers with raw and prepared food, bulk food packages and consumable supplies.
Industrial back supports will be used. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination.
