Join First Cash as a Retail Store Management Trainee. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers who want to fast‑track into a Store Management position. A minimum of 1 year of retail management experience is required.
$17.50 to $22.40 per hour

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with at least 6 months of store management experience. You will partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. The role includes daily operations, financial analysis, asset protection, and engagement with a diverse product mix (including jewelry, electronics, tools, firearms in FFL locations, etc.).
The successful candidate will receive an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and store performance.
- Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly, professional manner and addressing issues promptly.
- Assist in training pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers, inventory, and ensuring procedures are followed for asset protection.
- Maintain asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
- Administer store processes and procedures, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
- Analyze financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal‑setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure value and integrity of all loans issued.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for continuous self‑development.
- Communicate clearly with employees to align them with the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Stay up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
- Treat the Assistant Store Manager as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Willing and able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of performing duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
- Demonstrated effective supervision experience.
- Ability to handle firearms and become firearms certified.
- Willing to assist customers in parking lots and retrieve products from external storage areas.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Willing to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Store Manager Trainee expected to work 45+ hours per week; hours are business‑dependent.
- Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office equipment.
- Strong multitasking skills in a fast‑paced environment.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Analytical skills.
- Cash handling experience required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Store Manager Trainees have the potential to earn 2–8% commission, based on gross profit from personal performance. Details will be provided during the interview process.
Additional InformationApplicants will need to agree to a binding arbitration agreement to resolve disputes upon hire.
Payment rates will not be below any applicable local minimum wage requirements.
