Store Clerk

• Base Pay: $17.00 - $17.00 / Hour

The FD Employee Store Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the employee store, which includes but is not limited to pricing, selling, and restocking of grocery items.

• Receive, check and store grocery items at the beginning and end of the work day
• Make sure that shelves and store is well maintained and cleaned everyday
• Organize merchandise pricing, signage and coding
• Confirm that the quality of product are within FD market expiration window
• Transport grocery items to the correct storage areas
• Conduct daily counting of FD Markets physical inventory
• Ensure appropriate placement, storage and rotation of perishable grocery items
• Check storage areas for expired items and make sure that any expired items are wasted
• Handle stacking activities by making sure that all grocery items are placed properly
• Ensure all product has current pricing and all items follow the FD Market pricing conventions
• Assist customers in locating their choice of groceries and provide them with information on ingredients and expiry dates
• Monitor the movements of grocery items between storage areas and shelves
• Ensure that any damaged or spoilt products are handled according to company policy
• Assist customers in retrieving items from inaccessible areas such as low shelves or from the back of shelves
• Assist customer through the payments procedure by ringing and bagging their purchases
• Operate cash register, take payment for items sold
• Respond to customers’ questions, comments or concerns and ensure that they are handled properly
• Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment of 32 - 38 degrees
• Must be able to perform twisting, turning and bending
• Must be able to operate Powered Industrial Trucks (I.e. Forklift, Cherry Picker, Hi-lo)
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• In a workday: standing/walking 6-10 hours or more
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals, loud noises, flashing lights
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
• Ability to work in other areas of the business as needed

• Ability to clearly communicate in English is a must
• Customer service experience necessary
• Ability to work proactively in a fast paced, team based environment
