Assistant Manager

Position Overview

We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development.

• Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities
• Maintain storefront fixtures and display effectiveness
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts), and loss prevention
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards; protect and secure cash and company assets
• Adhere to policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure associates follow them
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment; interact professionally with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain cleanliness: bathrooms, floors, trash, overall presentation
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; required reading, interpreting, and explaining operational directives
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred
• Capacity to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height; meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication abilities
• Strong problem solving and decision‑making skills
• Compliance with alcohol/tobacco licensing requirements when applicable
