Commercial Lender (Full Time) - Canyon Lake Position Purpose
Primary role is to grow and retain profitable relationships by delivering value‑added solutions to clients and prospects, helping them reach their goals and maximizing revenues over the life of the relationship. The Loan Officer must be an experienced, qualified relationship manager capable of independent activity, with proven client relationship skills, extensive product knowledge, technical expertise, strong transaction execution skills, and credit process management.
Performance will be measured by calling activity, proposal generation, revenue generation, risk mitigation, relationship building, and long‑term franchise development.
- Solicit commercial clients and aggressively seek and obtain quality new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross‑selling efforts.
- Obtain and maintain certificates of insurance (COI) and attend various networking events in the assigned geographic area.
- Apply loan structuring and credit analysis skills.
- Generate a wide variety of commercial and real estate loans.
- Close loans typically in the $1 million to $10 million range.
- Contribute to deposit growth by cross‑selling and promoting additional banking products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, or another related field is preferred.
- Experience
Required:
Formally credit trained and/or underwriting knowledge and experience is preferred; typically a minimum of seven years of direct lending or credit support related experience with a focus on business relationships. - Knowledge
Required:
Familiarity with sales, loan processing, and closing processes; extensive knowledge of Commercial Banking products and services, including working knowledge of Commercial/Industrial (C&I) and Owner‑Occupied and Investment Commercial Real Estate loans. - Skills/Abilities: Ability to expand loans, client relationships, and cross‑sell bank products; strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven track record of business development.

Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Physical Strength:
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; ratio, proportion, and percentage; able to perform very simple algebra.
Language Ability:
Ability to read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias; prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style; conduct training, communicate at panel discussions, and make professional presentations.
Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and as needed.
