About USA Rare EarthUSA Rare Earth is building the first fully integrated domestic rare earth magnet supply chain in the United States. From mining critical minerals at our Round Top deposit in West Texas to processing rare earth materials and manufacturing magnets, we're helping secure the supply chain needed for electric vehicles, renewable energy, advanced technology, and defense applications.
The OpportunityWe are seeking a Geology Intern to support our exploration team at the Round Top Project in Sierra Blanca, Texas.
This internship is ideal for a graduate student interested in economic geology, mineral exploration, critical minerals, or mining. However, we are also open to candidates from other backgrounds who are enthusiastic about gaining hands‑on field experience and are comfortable working outdoors in active mining and exploration environments.
What You’ll Do- Assist with core logging and geological data collection
- Support sample characterization and geological interpretation
- Participate in field-based exploration activities
- Work in and around active drilling and mining environments
- Learn exploration and data collection techniques from experienced professionals
- Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and development of the Round Top deposit
- Flexible work schedule with availability Monday through Saturday
- Part-time and full-time arrangements will be considered
- Immediate start required
- Internship expected to run through December 2026
- $25.00 per hour
- $250 monthly gas stipend
- Currently enrolled in a Geology, Geoscience, Earth Sciences, or related program
- Interest in mining, mineral exploration, and critical minerals
- Basic understanding of geological mapping and logging principles
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a field environment
- Available to start immediately
- Able to work on-site at Round Top Mountain near Sierra Blanca, Texas
Due to the remote nature of the project site, reliable transportation is strongly preferred.
Candidates should ideally have access to a personal vehicle. For those without a vehicle, USA Rare Earth can provide information on potential carpooling opportunities with team members or local vehicle rental options; however, transportation and any associated costs are the responsibility of the employee.
