Duties Help
* Independently performs, with little or no supervision, installation access control for pedestrians and vehicles.
* Incumbent is responsible for performing and resolving a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments.
* Operates and performs research queries on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) workstation terminal(s) in accordance with (IAW) federal and state laws.
* Incumbent serves as a member of the installation's overall security response capability during actual or simulated incidents.
* Implements the installation closure plan securing ACPs at heightened FPCONs, emergencies or disasters and then becomes a part of the installation response capability. Requirements Help Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
* The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted
* This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
* This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
* Employee must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability.
* Must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments.
* Employee must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
* Incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT).
* This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
* Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
* Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms and weapons
* IAW AR 190-56, requirements of Individual Reliability Program apply.
* Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
* Incumbent must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56, maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;
philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes providing on-the-job security guard training to coworkers; safeguarding personnel, property, and/or technologies against threats such as theft, unlawful entry, damage, and destruction; verifying identification and/or credentials to grant access to a protected area; and inspecting containers, personal property, and/or documents on private, commercial, and/or government vehicles.
