Aircraft Maintenance/ Mechanic
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician I performs inspections, repairs, and maintenance on a new fleet of GA aircraft (PA‑28, PA‑44, SR‑20, and DA‑20) within CAE’s Part 145 Repair Station at the CAE Aviation Academy, Phoenix. Work is completed in air‑conditioned hangars and in alignment with FAA regulations, Repair Station Manuals, and CAE quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, repair, and maintain aircraft and components including engines, wings, fuselage, tail, landing gear, control cables, propeller, fuel systems, and related parts.
- Complete all work in accordance with Repair Station Manuals and associated processes.
- Consult aircraft maintenance manuals and manufacturers’ manuals to determine repair specifications and part replacement requirements.
- Troubleshoot airframe and engine discrepancies and perform corrective actions per manufacturer maintenance manuals.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of avionics systems and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Conduct scheduled inspections on GA‑type aircraft.
- Perform engine replacements.
- Taxi and tug aircraft safely.
- Adhere to CAE safety standards, including PPE usage and timely incident reporting.
- Comply with CAE Repair Station quality standards (training provided upon hire).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead or Manager.
- High school diploma.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with Mechanics, Leads, and Inspectors.
- Ability to multi‑task and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
- Proactive and results‑oriented mindset.
- Strong analytical thinking skills.
- Must provide a full set of tools.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
- Hands‑on maintenance background with PA‑28, PA‑44, SR‑20, or DA‑20 aircraft.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
